Testimonials

"I have taught lessons for almost 40 years and have only trusted my piano (baby grand) to a few tuners. Ashlyn is so positive and easy to work with. I was very happy with the job she did. I will definitely be using her on an annual basis to come and take care of my piano needs. (Hurst Piano Tuning) will be a great addition for the Mini-Cassia area."

- Tamara Barras, piano teacher

"I am so pleased with the job Ashlyn Hurst performed on my piano. It has never sounded so good! Ashlyn was prompt and courteous during the entire appointment. She took the time to make sure every note was correct. She also did a fabulous job cleaning my piano inside and out!"

- Pamela McHan, vocal coach, music instructor at St. Nicholas

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you serve?

I proudly serve the Mini-Cassia area: Rupert, Burley, Oakley, Paul, Heyburn, Acequia, Jackson, Albion, Declo, Malta, Raft River, Juniper

If your address is in Minidoka County or Cassia County or if you live 30 minutes from Rupert, I will come to your house!

How often should a piano be tuned?

Pianos should be tuned once a year to maintain optimal sound quality and performance.

Pianos fall out of tune slowly. If you play your piano daily, weekly, or monthly you probably won't notice when it falls out of tune!

How soon can you come and tune my piano?

The usual wait period for a tuning is 3 weeks.

HOWEVER, I am very booked right now.  My next available day is June 4th.

Do you charge the same amount for all piano types?

No. A half upright, full upright, baby grand, and grand all have different tuning costs. See pricing above.

How long have you been tuning pianos?

I have one year of experience.

What if it has been more than 10 years since my piano was tuned?

Your piano is still tunable! It will just take more time to get a tuning to stick. More than likely, your piano will also need a pitch raise.

What is a Pitch Raise and Stabilization?

A pitch raise is needed when a piano has fallen very flat. When a C note starts sounding like a B or B flat. A stabilization is the tuning that happens after a pitch raise is performed.
